it’s a strike. they are doing a wildcat strike. the entire WNBA, 2 MLB teams, and a handful of NBA teams are STRIKING, which is unheard of. many of their contracts (esp in the NBA) don’t even address striking because in the US, that’s not a thing for ppl in that caliber of sport. it’s a pretty big deal for people who are watching the labor side of this, and framing it as a boycott undercuts the political purpose.
